Santa Skate and Other Fun

We had a fun and festive weekend starting Friday afternoon with Dave's firm's family Christmas party where Wesley met Santa for the very first time.

Then on Saturday, the fun continued as we joined Wesley's swim buddy, Xander, and his Mom and Dad (Kate and David) for the annual Santa Skate. Basically, the Santa Skate is a two hour street skate (rollerblading) around central London (covering a distance of approximately 10 miles) with about 400 people dressed in Santa costumes to the sound of loud and jolly Christmas music. We had a blast and were very thankful that Kate and David invited us to join in the fun!

Wesley and Xander were dressed in identical santa outfits and charioted around by David and Kate. We didn't get very many pics during the skate as we had to focus on not falling or running into other skaters :) However, here's a link to some youtube footage (not of us, but many jolly santa skaters) and here's a picture of Wesley and Xander before the skate.

The next day we had a lovely afternoon pub meal with Kate, David and Xander. Since the little ones were dressed in their santa suits once again, we were able to take some pictures.

Tomorrow I'll try to post some more pictures from the weekend on our Picasa Web Albums.

Long time no post!

I'm sorry for not posting anything new recently. We've been keeping busy with activities such as Thanksgiving celebrations, swim class, massage class and a recent trip to the states! We flew to Michigan with a stopover in Virginia/DC where we were able to see a few friends, but unfortunately it wasn't long enough to see everyone we would like to have seen. Wesley was very happy to see his family in Michigan! If you want to see pictures from the trip, click here for the album. Wesley celebrated his six month birthday at Grandpa and Grandma's house!

In other Wesley news - he started eating solids this past Saturday. So far he's only had rice cereal, but he has sampled a few other tasty treats! So far he seems to love eating!

Return of Wet Razzling

About three weeks ago Wesley started making raspberry noises all the time. He went crazy with it, for about a week, and then completely stopped. Not one raspberry since...until today. We present to you: The Return of Wet Razzling (raspberries).

WWB and DWB

Here's a photo of Wesley and Dave just before leaving the flat for a friend's party a couple of weeks ago. No particular reason for posting it today, except that it's a cute photo :)

A day with new friends

Today Wesley and I hung out with Kate and Xander, new friends from our swim class. We shopped a little, played a lot and had lunch at The Victoria - a very nice pub indeed. Here's a picture of Xander and Wesley playing.

Happy Birthday Marty!

This weekend we were fortunate to enjoy another nice weekend at home and with friends. On Saturday night we went to a birthday party for our friend Marty and his friend Laura. We had a great time - Wesley is quite the social butterfly! Here's a picture of him dancing with the birthday boy.

Here are a couple of pictures I took today. Wesley is getting pretty close to sitting up on his own - although we'll keep the soft landing pad around for the time being :)

Welcome to Wesley William's Blog

Wesley turned five months old this past week and in honor of the occasion, I'm writing the first post in Wesley's blog. I hope keeping a blog will be a convenient way that anyone who is interested can find updates on Wesley's activities, growth and development. I was inspired to start a blog after a friend here in London started one recently for her little boy, Jack. Thank you, Jessica and Jack, for the inspiration!

We've been trying to take pictures to capture each month's "birthday". Here's one from yesterday. If you'd like to see how much he's changed over the months, click on the following hyperlink: Wesley's Monthly Pics
